# ElectricSkateboard.com > We read the price of 276,650 products at 486 independent shops > twice a day, in 16 countries and 11 currencies, and give every product > one verdict: cheapest anywhere, dropped today, never seen lower, or the only shop that > has it. 18,909 products are carried by two or more shops, and > 13,442 of those show a real price gap between them. > > The corpus is what these shops actually sell: boards and the streetwear worn on > them. 45,900 decks and completes, 20,844 streetwear and footwear > items — shirts, hoodies, pants, hats, shoes — and 9,880 parts, wheels and > protection. The same measurement applies to all of them: a shirt gets the same > verdict as a board, because the question is the same one. > Measurements are published under CC BY 4.0 — reuse them, cite the source. > Readings start August 27, 2026. Rebuilt twice a day; this file is generated at read time. ## The esk8 Price Index The esk8 Price Index for October 2026: the median in-stock price, in US dollars, is US$899 for electric skateboards (175 machines); US$699 for electric scooters (347 machines); US$1,599 for electric bikes (1,359 machines); US$2,299 for electric unicycles (95 machines). Real Discount Rate: 30.3% of the 920 machines advertised on sale are genuinely 30% or more below the crossed-out price with no other shop charging less. USD offers only, never converted. Rebuilt at every sweep. https://electricskateboard.com/index Dated, citable one-sentence facts about this market: https://electricskateboard.com/statistics ## Ask this dataset directly — MCP server This file is a snapshot; the server answers live questions about any product we track. - Endpoint: https://electricskateboard.com/mcp — JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTP POST (streamable-http, stateless). A GET on the same address returns the server card and the corpus size. - Tools: search_products, product_price, todays_deals, fake_sales, price_history, where_to_buy. - No key, no account, no rate limit to negotiate. Answers carry the shop, the currency and a link the reader can check, and say "unknown" where we have not measured. ## What we can answer, and what the answer rests on **"Is this discount real?"** — We compare the shop's own struck-through price against what every other shop we track charges for the same product today. Right now 948 products are advertised at a discount by one shop while another shop quietly charges less. A struck-through price only counts as a sale when it takes off at least 3% and at least $1: below that, a merchant who crosses out five cents is not claiming anything. https://electricskateboard.com/traps **"Who is cheapest for this product?"** — Only answerable where two or more shops carry it: 18,909 products, of which 13,442 show a genuine gap. The rest are carried by a single shop (93.2% of the corpus), and we say so instead of inventing a comparison. 5,076 products are cheaper at one shop than at every other shop today. https://electricskateboard.com/deals **"Did the price just move?"** — We read each shop twice a day and keep what changed between two readings of that same shop: 184 prices fell, 11,848 reached the lowest figure we have ever measured for that product. https://electricskateboard.com/drops and https://electricskateboard.com/lowest **"Is it cheaper than it used to be?"** — For 1,078 products, a dated Internet Archive capture of the shop's own page shows it costing MORE years ago than it costs today, in plain dollars before inflation. Median depth of that comparison: 3 years. https://electricskateboard.com/cheaper **"Should I buy now or wait?"** — We answer it explicitly, and we refuse to score it out of 100: with about one archived reading per product, a score would dress a single data point as a trend. What we do say is which of the four verdicts applies, and on what evidence. https://electricskateboard.com/method ## Today in numbers - products published: 276,650 · variants read: 2,066,532 - shops: 486 in 16 countries, 11 currencies - carried by 2+ shops: 18,909 (6.8%) · with a real gap: 13,442 - single-shop products: 257,741 (93.2%) - cheaper here than anywhere else today: 5,076 - advertised discounts beaten by another shop: 948 - price falls since our previous reading: 184 - new all-time lows in our record: 11,848 - cheaper today than an archived capture years ago: 1,078 ## How a verdict is decided - **Real deal** — in stock, and either genuinely marked down by its own shop while a second shop confirms the level, or strictly cheaper than the next shop. - **Fake sale** — a shop advertises a markdown while another shop's plain price is lower. - **Drop** — the price at one shop is lower than at our previous reading of that same shop. - **New low** — lower than any figure we have recorded for that product, and it is the price actually on offer, not a low reached by some other size or colour. - **Only shop** — no other shop we track carries it. That is a measurement too, and the only one a single merchant can never make about itself. - A price captured while the page said out of stock never counts as a low. Stock has three states, and "the capture does not say" is not "out of stock". ## What we refuse to claim - **We never convert currencies to compare.** Every comparison happens inside one currency. A list can be *displayed* in one currency on request; those figures carry a tilde, the Bank of Canada rate and its date. The measured figure is the one on the product page. - **We do not know where a shop ships TO** — only where it ships from. - **An archived price is never one of our readings.** It can only remove a claim, never create one: if a dated capture shows the page cheaper than we ever saw it, we drop "lowest we have seen" and cite the capture instead, with its date and a link. - **We are not a shop and we take no payment to move a product up a list.** - Our own record starts August 27, 2026. Anything older comes from a third-party capture, and is labelled as such. ## Questions we answer with a measurement These are the only pages on the site that answer a question rather than describe a product. Every figure in them is recomputed when the site rebuilds, twice a day; the wording of each question never changes, so a citation stays valid. - **How much does an electric skateboard cost?** Median USD 899, middle half 549–1,400, on 222 complete boards. https://electricskateboard.com/how-much-does-an-electric-skateboard-cost - **How many advertised discounts are real?** 63.5% of the 6,917 we can check against a competitor are beaten or inflated.
